The government informs us, more than once, that the carbon tax will "cut 160 million tonnes of pollution from the atmosphere each year". But not once does the government inform us by how much the carbon tax will reduce global temperatures. The reason for the silence is simple. The carbon tax will make no difference to global temperatures. Will we find the MSM all asking what will be the gain for all the pain of the carbon dioxide tax?
And that explains why the debate about a carbon tax is far from over. The government, the Greens, climate change scientists and propagandists may wish it otherwise, but there is plenty left to say about a carbon tax and global warming.

How much will our carbon Dioxide Tax reduce Global Temperature?
In an opinion piece in today's Australian, Janet Albrechtsen asks what has become known as "the Andrew Bolt question." In writing of the Gillard Green Government's $4 Million propaganda mail-out, she writes:

Carbon Dioxide is not a pollutant. The primordial Earth had CO2 levels in excess of 20 times the levels we have now. This CO2 was photosynthesized into oxygen and converted into life by cyanobacteria. So long as we have cyanobacteria CO2 is not a threat.
ReplyDeleteCarbon dioxide is as important as oxygen withot it all life will be lost. There is more to the whole climate change push than protecting the planet what do you think it is does any one have any idears
ReplyDeletePlease look at Prof. Bob Carters presentation about "global warming" resp., "global cooling" - it says it all.

Dear message gift, can you please give me your estimation of the human population of primordial earth?
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Carbon dioxide is as important as oxygen. Have you considered that an increase in carbon dioxide inevitably changes the chemical balances of our atmosphere? I don't know about you, but I don't much want a change in our atmosphere, I like being able to breathe.
Anonymous, have you considered that, as carbon dioxide has increase in the atmosphere, the world's biomass and therefore the world's ability to feed the world has increased. I don't know about you but I don't want a decrease in CO2 (plant food) and therefore a decrease in food supplies.
ReplyDeleteAtmospheric Co2 is less than 400 ppmv. We van safely breathe at 10 times that or 4000 ppmv - see

Submarine crew are reported to be the major source of CO2 on board submarines (Crawl 2003). Data collected on nine nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines indicate an average CO2 concentration of 3,500 ppm with a range of 0-10,600 ppm, and data collected on 10 nuclear-powered attack submarines indicate an average CO2 concentration of 4,100 ppm with a range of 300-11,300 ppm (Hagar 2003).
The argument about CO2 levels and global warming is a red herring. Julia and her followers would rather keep that banter alive as it detracts from Labour's political performance.
ReplyDeleteLabour need to raise finances to pay for their monumental F#$k-ups. A Carbon Dioxide Tax, or should I say "carbon pricing" will do this.
Her followers hope to gain some monetary benefit there-by they will vote for her. Pretty simple really. even a Labour voter can understand!
Don't you see that we are living the wrong way in relation to our natural environment, regardless of climate change and the greenhouse effect? We abuse and plunder our resources and ruin everything around us! The Carbon Tax will help turn businesses to more sustainable and environmentally friendly methods, as much for our own health as the environments!
ReplyDeleteExactly!!! It is not about CO2. It is about pollution and our over-use of all our resources. I don't understand by people can't grasp this, and promote it in this fashion. It should be called Pollution tax and everything explained around that.
DeleteBusinesses will pass on the carbon DIOXIDE tax to consumers and that will only inconvenience the poor
